How to join Indian Army after 10th:-

But unfortunately their are only two posts available in the Indian Army for 10th passed candidates which are soldier tradesman and general duties.

Eligibility:

  • Maximum marks obtained in the exam must be 40℅ to 45℅.
  • The selection will be based on written exam, physical test and medical test.

How to join Indian Army after 12:

For those who want to join Army after 12th can have to the access to join Army in multiple ways.

However, the main and popular two ways to join the Indian Army are through :-

  • NDA exams
  • TES exams

National Defense Academy:

The National Defense Academy is the Joint Defence Service Training Institute of the Indian Armed Forces.

Technical Entry Scheme:

Candidates can also join the Indian Army by giving the Technical Scheme Examination.

Eligibility:

  • Age limit: 16 ½ and 19 ½.
  • Marital status: Unmarried male
  • Nationality: Indian or Indian migrant
  • Education: 12th pass with physics, chemistry and mathematics as their stream
  • Minimum marks: with an aggregate 70 % marks.

Ways to join Indian Army For Females:

There are mainly 5 ways for a female candidate to join the Army which includes short term and long term processes. Those ways are:

  • UPSC Entry/ Short Service Commission (Non-Technical)
  • UPSC Entry ( Technical )
  • Short Service Commission (NCC)
  • Short Service Commission ( Judge Advocate General)

UPSC Entry (Non-Technical):

Those female candidate who have no background in technical work can join from this category where they will be selected on clearing CDS exam by UPSC and under training.

Eligibility:

  • Age limit: 19 to 25 years.
  • Marital status: Unmarried females.
  • Education: graduation.
  • Examination: CDS exam conducted by UPSC.
  • Training: 49 weeks of rigorous training at the OTA ( Officers Training Academy) in Chennai. 

UPSC Entry ( Technical ):

Those female candidate who have pursued a degree in engineering can get entry into Indian Army from this category.

Eligibility:

  • Age limit: 21 to 27 years
  • Marital status: Unmarried females.
  • Education: engineering
  • Examination: no examination based on merit.
  • Training: The training is of 49 weeks will be conducted at OTA Chennai and they will be able to join as Short Service Commission Officers after training.

NCC:

This is a method of direct entry for women wherein they don’t need to give any entrance exam. 

Eligibility:

  • Age limit: 19 to 25 years
  • Marital status: Unmarried females.
  • Education: graduation with 50℅.
  • Certification: NCC “C” certificate with atleast ‘B’ grade.
  • Training: The training is of 49 weeks will be conducted.

Judge Advocate General:

The Joint Advocate General is a branch in the Indian Army which is responsible for providing legal help to the military concerning matters related to court-martials and military law.  

Eligibility:

  • Age limit: 21 to 27 years
  • Marital status: Unmarried females.
  • Education: graduation in LLB with 55℅ marks.
  • Certification: member of the Bar Council of India or passed a law course by recognized bar council.
  • Training: The training is of 49 weeks will be conducted.

  • National Defense Academy, Pune.
  • Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
  • Army Cadet College, Dehradun.
  • Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School, Mizoram.
  • Army War College, Madhya Pradesh.
  • Indian National Defence University (INDU), Haryana.
  • Officers Training Academy, Chennai.
  • Rashtriya Military School, Karnataka.
  • Officers Training Academy, Bihar.
  • Army School of Physical Training (ASPT), Pune.

Physical Test:

After the written test candidates need to pass the physical test which consist of various events such as the race (run), push-ups, long jump, etc.

The candidate are awarded a total of 100 marks for this test. The physical test requirements are almost same for every category of exams.

Marks for 1600 meter Race:

  • 5 Minutes 30 Seconds – 60 marks.
  • 5 Min 31 Sec to 45 Sec – 48 marks.
  • 5 Minutes 46 Seconds or more – Fail.

Marks for Pull-ups:

  • 10 or More – 40 marks
  • 09 – 33 marks
  • 08 – 27 marks
  • 07 – 21 marks.
  • 06 – 16 marks.

Balancing and Long Jump:

No points will be given for it but you must have passed this event. Also, if you succeed in a 9 feet long jump, you will not get any points. However, it needs to be successful too.
